But how do you go about sourcing the best possible raw materials for your new drink, especially the bulk spirits, which are a huge hassle, given that you don't need a whole container, they are subject to Excise Tax, a Dangerous Good, and often produced thousands of miles away far away from good, old home?

Do you know how reputable and reliable your supplier is?
We are a business that fully specialises in sourcing alcoholic spirits both domestically and from abroad, and we are incorporated here in Australia. Our owners have been working together in this industry on a global scale for more than 45 years.

Are you a lucrative enough customer for your supplier?
Most overseas producers require you to purchase at least a full container load (FCL, i.e. 10-25,ooo litres) from them to make it worth their while. When you buy from us, our MOQs start as low as one IBC (1,000 litres).
Do you trust the supplier enough to pay them in advance?
When you buy directly from overseas, you will have to pay in full before they will even load your shipment. That means you will be out of pocket for up to 3 months, in many cases for a lot more product than you will actually need for a while at least, and you don't know what the quality will be like that you will finally receive.
With us, you get a sample of the actual spirit that is in our warehouse, and you will receive your goods within a few days from your payment.

Have you thought about managing your foreign currency risks?
The Australian Dollar has been trading at values between 0.574 and 0.941 to the US Dollar over the past ten years; in the last twelve months alone (As of April 2024), one Aussie dollar could have bought you up to 10% less in value than during other times of the year. If you are not careful, you can lose a lot of value = money just by paying at the wrong time.
When you buy from us, you will always pay us in Australian Dollar and have zero foreign currency risk.

Do you know all of the documents, permits and licences that you will need to export, ship and import the spirits?
Dealing with alcohol is bad enough at home: It is a flammable and explosive liquid ("Dangerous Good"!), it is subject to excise taxes and duties and you have to be on the ball about your reporting all the time, otherwise the ATO will come at you faster than you can say "G'day, maaaaaaaaate...". When you try to import spirits from abroad yourself, you need to familiarise yourself with all of the requisite regulations overseas as well (And they may not always be available in English), you need to understand about logistics at origin and at sea, you may need to pay import duties, you need to be able to oversee and hold every single party in the supply chain to account.

What will you do if your shipment gets delayed or cancelled?
Not only will you be stuffed, because your own customers will start to throw their toys out of the pram, now you will also have to work at lightning speed to figure out if you can actually personally help expedite solving the problem overseas.
We have been dealing with these problems for a living for decades, and we know exactly what to do. Plus, we may still have stocks in our warehouse that you can simply draw from.

What will you do if there is a quality problem?
Send it back? Ask for your money back?
If your supplier sits thousands of miles away, good luck. Especially if you are a small customer and/or have ordered for the first time.
With us, you have someone in the same country who you bought from, who has tested the quality of the product upon arrival and vetted it for you. We may even be able to exchange and replace your IBC for you within a few days.
